Not much to say, if you know how to use doodle pads, you know how it works. It uses a magnetic mechanism to mark the screen with the magnetic tools (pencil and attachments). It's educational value is quadruplet if your child knows how it works. You'd need to explain magnets and how they work first, of course.
Enough of the boring explanations, the toy does what it was made to do. But this is high quality construction, not anywhere close to the cheap ones. It has handles on each side which makes it easy to carry. It's screen is as big as an average sized laptop screen. The pencil is held by a string, which makes it impossible to get lost.
My son who is autistic has stood on this toy and attempted to break it many times, he hasn't succeeded yet. It is almost 5 months old.
Great toy and IT LASTS! Nothing else to be said.Get more detail about Fisher-Price Doodle Pro Purple.
