I can't believe how my granddaughter loved these things. She spent Christmas with me and she got lots of lovely gifts. This was the first one she opened and the first one she actually played with. She spent all day putting them on, on Christmas Day. Since she flew back home, I had to mail some of her gifts back. The first thing she asked was "Grandma, please send my nails!". She is 9 years old.Get more detail about Creativity for Kids Press On Nail Party.

Purchase Alex Face Paint Studio
This is pretty much a waste of money. The colors do not show up well at all. I would try Wolfe paints or the best thing I've found is the books by Klutz that include the Wolfe paints with it, a wonderful value.Get more detail about Alex Face Paint Studio.

Where To Buy Aquadoodle My First Coloring Activity Thomas
A "One-Star" review does not do this product justice. My 3.5 year old boy and my 1.5 year old girl fight over this thing while traveling. It's true that you can see the image faintly before it's even wet, but they don't seem to care. They love to "color" this over and over. Maybe it's because I only bring it out for travel. It's great that it's just water and the small size fits great in a Ziploc.Get more detail about Aquadoodle My First Coloring Activity Thomas.
Shop For Alex Creamy Crayons, Set of 12 plus brush
These crayons are so cool because the colors can be layered giving a depth that crayons cannot. I think I bought them too early; I should have waited until my youngest was at least five for them to truly be appreciated. You have to supervise while they play with these as the potential for messiness is amped up dramatically due to the consistency of the product. My recommendation age: 5 1/2 plus.Get more detail about Alex Creamy Crayons, Set of 12 plus brush.

Stockmar Beeswax Stick Crayons - Set of 16
This is our first set of Stockmar crayons, and I'm totally sold on them. They're a joy to color with. The colors are incredibly vibrant. The red - one of my favorites - isn't just red like you get in a box of Crayolas, it's this deep, intense, velvet color. The same is true of the other colors to varying degrees, the reds, blues and purple being the best in the tin.
Of course, if you're wanting a subdued color, you aren't going to find it here. Even the browns are unusually rich, and my husband isn't fond of this. He says he'd like nice muted color, and even when he tries to mix them, the colors are still too unusual and too vivid, and not at all what he grew up with.
The kids don't seem to mind this, and neither do I, so it's just a matter of taste, I suppose.
I like that they're made in Germany and I feel safe with my kids handling them on a daily basis, that they're made of beeswax (which just smells nice), that they're really thick, and easy to grasp for little hands just learning to color and draw. The 16-pack seems to contain the perfect range of colors. There are just enough to be versatile, without being an overwhelming amount.
The only drawback is that there is a learning curve when it comes to the colors. The names of all the colors, though easy enough to decipher, are all in German, and the colors of the the crayons themselves don't necessarily correlate to the color that will end up on the paper. The crayons are quite dark, making them all look far too similar, and since my children have removed the labels, I often find myself drawing with the red-brown crayon when I meant to use the true red, for example. I imagine the kids have this problem too, since they cannot read the labels anyway, and all the blues, reds and browns are difficult to differentiate unless you're under really bright light - which we often are not.
They're still, hands down, worth it in my mind. The colors aren't just nice - they're memorable.Get more detail about Stockmar Beeswax Stick Crayons - Set of 16.
Colorfelts Play Boards - Dora the Explorer Review
This toy comes with so many different pieces, the pretend play possibilities are endless! There are several different poses for each of the major characters - Dora, Boots and Swiper - and all of the minor characters are included as well. There may be too many pieces for younger children, so parents can put some away until those children are older and ready for more complex scenarios. This is a great toy for children who are beginning to engage in pretend play.Get more detail about Colorfelts Play Boards - Dora the Explorer.
